Mike ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi : Has He Completely Lost It

I watched with disgust as Mike ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi made a total mess of himself. The moneyed Honorable Member of Parliament for Makadara constituency led a group of youth to demonstrate over demolition of stalls in South C. He was the ring leader of the demo and led others in throwing punches at steel doors, throwing himself recklessly on moving vehicles like a possessed man, scaling gates like a monkey on heat and threatening all and sundry if they dared trample on the ‘rights’ of his fellow constituents.
Acting like he was under the influence of some banned substances, Sonko threatened to repeat his escapades if such demolition were to occur again. I wonder how Museveni would have reacted to his shenanigans if he was from Uganda. Kenyan young Turks have shown time and again that they are not ready for leadership positions. Seeing the monkey antics of Mbuvi reminded me of Simon Mbugua who lost an election petition recently. He was another clown who was known for making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The youthful politicians have proved to be devoid of any ideas to develop the youths thus resorting to violent activities to probably shield their insufficiencies. An intelligent leader who understands the law would have handled the situation differently. Even the youths who participated in the demos looked a bit embarrassed by the erratic and uncouth behavior of mheshimwa Sonko.
When he hijacked a press conference called by more civilized MPs to voice their support over the nomination of Willy Mutunga and his controversial stud for the prestigious CJ position, Mbuvi was at his vintage best. He donned his stunners and studs before bashing those who opposed Willy Mutunga for being out of fashion. While what he was saying might have been true-he was the wrong person to act defender of Mutunga and his controversial stud. When he was asked about the events of the previous day, Hon. Mbuvi pelted abuses and tantrums at the stunned journalists. The MPs present were utterly appalled by his foul mouth trouped out one by one leaving Mbuvi to exercise his freedom of speech.
The people of Makadara are lucky that their MP who won a by election is remaining with less than 2 years to continue exhibiting his bush tactics. By participating in all those demonstration the MP is trying to divert the attention of the populace from the troubles that have been dogging him.
If I was the Martha Karua, the party leader of NARC K and the party that he vied the Makadara seat with, I would have dissociated myself and my party from the hooliganism of Sonko. Just like Simeon Mbugua, Sonko sale by date is about. Wishing him a quick recovery on the arm he broke.

in as much as its funny to read this, reality hits at the end and it saddens me to learn that most of the youth lack leadership qualities yet they are the guys we want to bring change in kenya.sonko is just a confused element of art and design,he lacks leadership skills and ought to stick to what he does best(mathree).
